Top 10 Perfumes for Women in 2021

Best Women’s Perfume Review 2021

I think Christian Dior put it best when he said of perfume:

‘it is the indispensable complement to the personality of a woman, the finishing touch to a dress’.

Perfume has been the ultimate invisible accessory for thousands of years.

From the oils and balms of the Ancient Egyptians to the scented tinctures favoured by the Romans, the eau de colognes of 18th century France through to the sophisticated scents created by the legendary perfume houses of today, every age and culture has had their own love affair with perfume.

In today’s crowded marketplace it can be a little overwhelming to try and find your fragrance – a perfume that will forever be your individual scented slogan.

Never fear. Your perfume is out there – it’s just a question of finding it.

After all, as Marilyn Monroe herself once said

‘there are no women who do not like perfume, there are simply women that have not found their scent’.

Let’s take a look at what you might be wearing in 2021.

CKIN2U for her by Calvin Klein

Spontaneous. Sexy. Connected. View on Amazon.

Calvin Klein has designed this scent for the upwardly mobile young woman about town.

It combines light, youthful notes of pink grapefruit expertly balanced by the confidence of radiant red cedar and vanilla.

It can lean a little masculine in its fragrance but – for fans of a slightly more robust, unisex perfume – this might be for you.

Olympea by Paco Rabanne

This is a scent mixed for the strong and seductive woman. It draws you in with suggestions of oriental orchids gently lowering you into a base of sandalwood and amber.

Even the bottle looks as though it should be sitting on the perfume shelf of a Greek Goddess!

It can, however, be a little overwhelming – remember, less is more when applying this particular scent. Olympea on Amazon.

Jimmy Choo Original Eau de Parfum by Jimmy Choo

This is a glamourous and modern scent aimed at the fashionable urbanite.

The fresh, clean chypre is initially introduced to the nose, ushering in warm, woody depths. Fans of Jimmy Choo have also remarked upon its unique ‘toffee finish’.

I felt the fragrance was best described in the words of one fan – ‘your skin, but better’.

BOSS Femme by BOSS

This perfume is trumpeted by Boss as their ‘most liberating and feminine fragrance’.

It combines sharp tangerine and blackcurrant notes over a deep musky base all contained within a striking pink, art-deco bottle.

Not too overpowering – this could well be the smell of many of your springs and summers to come. Boss Femme at Amazon.

Obsessed for Women by Calvin Klein

With a delicate fragrance of white lavender playing gently alongside soft violet leaf notes – this is certainly a scent that breaks the rules.

This perfume plays with our ideas of gender specific fragrances by leveraging ingredients historically associated with male colognes to create a unique and innovative scent.

Not a perfume for the faint hearted but it is likely to appeal to women who want to push the envelope. Obsessed on Amazon.

Versace Woman by Versace

This delightful fragrance from Versace has amber head notes over a tonka-bean body with a heart of rich jasmine and iris.

It is a sweet and flowery scent – perfect for a romantic walk in the autumn rain or tucked up by a winter fire. Check it out on Amazon.

Some have commented on the fact that it does not linger quite as well as other perfumes on the market – so remember to take the bottle with you if you’re out for the day!

The One by D&G

This was designed by Dolce and Gabbana to be a ‘fragrance with character’ and they have certainly achieved that objective with this alluring scent.

Creamy vanilla lilies combine with top notes of peach and lychee to create a great scent for a lunch with friends or an outing to the beach.

I am always surprised how often I get told that this was a woman’s very first perfume. In addition, I am also surprised how often they say that they revisit the scent again and again.

It certainly is a timeless classic!

Chanel No5 by Chanel

An oldie but certainly a goodie!

Famously reputed to be the only thing Marilyn Monroe wore in bed, this legendary scent was created in 1921 for Coco Chanel.

For the few people that are not aware of the characteristics of this iconic scent, it has a heart of Jasmine and rose petal, top notes of bergamot and lemon and a base of sandalwood and patchouli.

It is pure vintage class. Chanel No.5 on Amazon.

The only problem that you might have is that so many women regard this scent as their
signature perfume already it’s probably best that you check who else you know wears it before buying a bottle!

Sì by Armani

This fragrance was launched in 2013 and its soft, woody scent has been so popular since its inception that many of you reading will have already been enchanted by it.

It is a heady mix of rich blackcurrant, smooth vanilla, vibrant rose and tingling patchouli.

It is not necessarily an everyday fragrance due to the fact that it can be quite intense and heady when initially applied, but it tempers over the course of the day into delicate, feminine candy-like notes.

It is a special occasion scent – one that will help you re-live wonderful memories again and again. Si by Armani – Amazon.

Candy by Prada

Candy was designed to be ‘an outburst of shocking pink and gold’ – a perfume for the woman that wants to embrace her ‘wild side’.

It is a daring and seductive fragrance. The notes of white musk and noble Benzoin combine to create an indulgent scent – a tribute to excess; full of life and ultra-sexy.

This is certainly a party scent. Candy on Amazon.

Be warned, however, if you plan to party all night then make sure you take the bottle with you. It does not have the staying power of some other fragrances on the market.

After an hour or so of wearing this, you’d be forgiven for thinking you had forgotten to put it on at all!
